Reed Accountancy are currently assisting in the recruitment of a Finance Officer for an established client in the Horsham area. As Finance Officer you will play a crucial role in managing financial systems and processes. This position involves responding to both internal and external financial queries, ensuring accurate financial records, and supporting the operational Finance Department. You will be instrumental in maintaining clear records of financial transactions in line with organisational and tax authority requirements.
Day-to-day of the role:- Checking and verifying bank transactions.
- Preparing ledger balances, control accounts, and statements; reconciling statements and accounts using the Sage accounting system.
- Identifying and correcting or referring any errors or accounting discrepancies.
- Processing staff expenses and credit card expenditure, validating spend against policies.
- Supporting with ad hoc projects as needed.
- Reconciling periodic statements, accounts, and related transactions.
- Recent working experience in an operational financial function, preferably with cashier and treasury experience.
- Experience in a transaction processing function and customer service.
- Strong computer processing skills.
- Organised with the ability to multitask across several work streams simultaneously.
- Knowledge of inter-company transactions.
- Proficiency in using financial software, particularly Sage.
