Reed Accountancy are currently assisting an established client in the Horsham are in the recruitment of an experience Finance Officer to join their team on and initial 6 month contract. This role is crucial for ensuring effective, efficient, and accurate financial transaction processing within our organisation. The ideal candidate will be adept at maintaining clear financial records in compliance with organisational and tax authority requirements and will thrive in both remote and collaborative environments.

Day-to-day of the role:

  • Maintain clear records of financial transactions in line with organisational and tax authority requirements.
  • Respond to queries from internal customers, expedite the delivery of ordered goods and services, and support internal customers on financial systems and processes.
  • Address external stakeholder and customer queries effectively.
  • Check and verify bank transactions to ensure accuracy.
  • Prepare purchase orders, ledger balances, control accounts, and statements, and reconcile statements, accounts, and related transactions.
  • Identify and correct or refer any errors or accounting discrepancies.
  • Provide cost and revenue information in required formats to relevant personnel.
  • Compile data and report on income and expenditure to support decision-making and management planning.
  • Support with ad hoc projects as needed.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Demonstrable experience in high volume processing and inter-company transactions.
  • Strong understanding of the full Purchase-to-Pay process.
  • Excellent customer service skills and the ability to build positive relationships.
  • Highly motivated with the ability to thrive in a remote work environment.
  • Organised and capable of multitasking across several work streams simultaneously.
  • Knowledge of funds and grants and the correct treatment of VAT for the Charity sector.
