Job Title: Temporary Purchase Ledger Clerk - 6 Months Hours: 8:30am - 5:30pm, Monday to Friday - Office BasedHourly rate: Up to £15.00 depending on experience

Summary:We are seeking a Purchase Ledger Clerk to join a growing finance team based in Horsham. You will assist with purchase ledger accounting and other financial activities, ensuring accuracy, efficiency, and consistency. The ideal candidate will have excellent attention to detail, strong organisational skills, and a good understanding of accounting principles. You'll be proactive in identifying and resolving challenges, as well as comfortable working independently or as part of a team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Reconcile supplier invoices and resolve any discrepancies
  • Report reconciliation variances to management
  • Conduct balance sheet and supplier statement reconciliations
  • Perform daily bank reconciliations
  • Support the prepayment and accrual process
  • Handle supplier queries and resolve issues
  • Match invoices to purchase orders and process purchase invoices
  • Produce regular payment runs
  • Dispute incorrect supplier invoices and obtain credit notes
  • Record receipts and payments in Sage200 cashbook
  • Collaborate with internal teams to ensure smooth financial processes

Key Requirements:

  • Purchase ledger and cashbook experience essential
  • IT literate, with strong Microsoft Excel skills Sage 200 experience preferred (other Sage experience also considered)
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Self-motivated, organised, and capable of working to deadlines without daily supervision
  • Positive, proactive,
  • Flexibility to undertake ad hoc duties as required by the Finance Manager

This is a temporary position with a view of starting within the next 2 weeks, it will be office based for training and will then offer 1 day a week home working.
