We are seeking a dedicated Teaching Assistant to provide one-on-one and small class support for secondary aged boys who have SEMH. This role is based in a school located in the picturesque countryside of West Sussex, which boasts state-of-the-art facilities and a commitment to the holistic development of its pupils.
Day-to-day of the role:- Work closely with a child who has complex emotional needs, ensuring proactive intervention to maintain a calm learning environment.
- Build and maintain positive relationships with pupils, exercising appropriate authority and acting decisively when necessary.
- Understand the educational needs of pupils and tailor support to meet these needs
- Assist in the preparation of teaching materials and the organisation of the classroom to create an engaging learning environment.
- Collaborate with teaching staff to monitor student progress and provide targeted support to enhance learning outcomes.
- Engage with pupils to foster a sense of community and serve as a positive role model.
- Proven experience working with children, especially those with complex emotional needs.
- Strong capability to support KS3 and KS4 students.
- Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to foster a positive and inclusive learning environment.
- A genuine passion for helping students succeed and thrive.
- A driving licence is essential due to the rural location of the school.
