An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Senior Ecologist with 4 years’ experience to join a well-established ecology consultancy. This role can be full-time or part-time offering excellent benefits, hybrid working and salary range of £36,000 - £42,000

As a Senior Ecologist, you will be overseeing projects from inception to delivery, including liaising with clients and stakeholders.

You will be responsible for:

Preparing technical reports, licence applications, and mitigation strategies.
Leading ecological surveys requiring advanced technical expertise.
Supporting the development of business operations and technical standards.
Mentoring and guiding assistant ecologists to foster professional growth.

What we are looking for:

Previously worked as an Ecologist, Ecological Consultant, Ecological Surveyor or in a similar role.
At least 4 years’ professional experience in ecological consultancy.
Skilled in UK botany, including FISC level 4 certification and experience in UK Habitat Classification Surveys.
Background in writing and reviewing Preliminary Ecological Appraisals and conducting Biodiversity Net Gain Assessments.
Hold a degree in ecology or a related field.
Possess a strong understanding of ecological legislation, consultancy, and planning policy.
Be registered to use at least two Natural England protected species licences, including a Level 2 Bat Survey Licence.
Valid UK driving licence and a vehicle insured for business use.
