An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Senior Ecologist with 4 years’ experience to join a well-established ecology consultancy. This role can be full-time or part-time offering excellent benefits, hybrid working and salary range of £36,000 - £42,000

As a Senior Ecologist, you will be overseeing projects from inception to delivery, including liaising with clients and stakeholders.

You will be responsible for:

  • Preparing technical reports, licence applications, and mitigation strategies.
  • Leading ecological surveys requiring advanced technical expertise.
  • Supporting the development of business operations and technical standards.
  • Mentoring and guiding assistant ecologists to foster professional growth.

What we are looking for:

  • Previously worked as an Ecologist, Ecological Consultant, Ecological Surveyor or in a similar role.
  • At least 4 years’ professional experience in ecological consultancy.
  • Skilled in UK botany, including FISC level 4 certification and experience in UK Habitat Classification Surveys.
  • Background in writing and reviewing Preliminary Ecological Appraisals and conducting Biodiversity Net Gain Assessments.
  • Hold a degree in ecology or a related field.
  • Possess a strong understanding of ecological legislation, consultancy, and planning policy.
  • Be registered to use at least two Natural England protected species licences, including a Level 2 Bat Survey Licence.
  • Valid UK driving licence and a vehicle insured for business use.
