A leader in the design and manufacture of advanced optical and radar systems for defence, security, and aerospace applications are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Principal Electronics Engineer to join their dynamic team.

Key Accountabilities - Principal Electronics Engineer

+ Provide expertise of circuit design, components, and PCB technology. Working in technology areas of EMC, Power Management, Servo Control, processor interfacing and communications.

+ Provide expertise in the fields of power and signal transmission over wired medium with ability to define and objectively review an overall architecture.

+ Play a key role within a project and set the standards of good engineering practice.

+ Review and analyse processes and practices within the department, driving and encouraging innovation across the board.

+ Regularly communicate with senior management, customers and other key stakeholders maintaining a focus on tactical and some strategic oversight of projects, technology, and team development.

+ Take a lead role in developing or enhancing technology within the business, providing subject matter expertise for technology areas and apply these to R&D development activities or projects.

Skills and knowledge required - Principal Electronics Engineer

+ Strong degree in a related discipline accredited by the IET. Typically, 6 years relevant experience expected.

+ Proven experience of leading and/or supervising projects or people.

+ Solid all-round theoretical and practical understanding of electrical and electronics designs.
