About the Role:We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Commercial Waste Manager to cover maternity leave for 7 months. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing both the office and operational teams to ensure that the commercial waste services are run efficiently and to a high standard. You will play a key role in income generation by developing and implementing new commercial waste and recycling services.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the commercial waste team, including a Sales Support Officer and three Business Waste Administrators.
  • Develop and promote commercial waste and recycling services to maximize revenue.
  • Manage the introduction of a new food waste business and ensure its successful implementation.
  • Act as the account manager for new and existing clients, ensuring high-quality customer service.
  • Oversee complaints, inquiries, and ensure compliance with performance targets.
  • Liaise with the operational waste and recycling team to ensure efficient service delivery.
  • Drive business development through contract management, client negotiation, and project planning.

Key Skills & Experience:

  • Essential:
    • Proven management experience.
    • Strong awareness of health and safety regulations.
    • Experience in a customer service environment.
    • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
    • Budget management and income generation experience.
    • Highly motivated self-starter with good organizational skills.
    • Competent in using IT systems and packages.
  • Desirable:
    • Operational background in management.
    • Knowledge of the waste industry and associated legislation.
    • Experience in sales or business development in a high-volume, low-margin industry.
