Our client are a private developer in east central Scotland, focussed on niche new build housing projects in exclusive areas of the city. They are looking to secure a Quantity Surveyor to be based in their city centre offices in Edinburgh. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing all costs relating to private housing projects, from initial estimates to final accounts.

Key responsibilities include:

- Preparing detailed cost plans and estimates for private housing developments.
- Conducting feasibility studies and risk assessments.
- Managing project budgets and monitoring costs.
- Negotiating contracts and procurement of materials.
- Liaising with clients, contractors, and other stakeholders.
- Ensuring compliance with legal and regulatory requirements.
- Preparing and presenting financial reports.

Skills and Qualifications:

- Bachelor's degree in Quantity Surveying or a related field.
- Proven experience in quantity surveying within the private housing sector.
- Strong knowledge of construction methods and materials.
- Excellent numerical and analytical skills.
- Proficiency in relevant software such as MS Excel and industry-specific tools.
- Strong negotiation and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Professional membership with RICS (Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors) is preferred.
