Job Overview for a PE Teacher (Female):

The school is seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Physical Education (PE) Teacher (Female) to join their dynamic team. The successful candidate will have a passion for promoting physical fitness, well-being, and teamwork among students of all abilities. You will be responsible for delivering engaging, inclusive PE lessons that inspire students to embrace physical activity both within the school and beyond.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Plan, deliver, and assess high-quality PE lessons across KS3 and KS4 (and potentially KS5), ensuring alignment with the national curriculum.
  • Create a positive, active, and inclusive learning environment that encourages all students to participate in a range of sports and physical activities.
  • Collaborate with other staff, including PE colleagues, to promote cross-curricular learning and the holistic development of students.
  • Ensure the health, safety, and well-being of all students during physical activities, adhering to safeguarding and health & safety guidelines.
  • Manage PE equipment and resources, ensuring they are maintained in good condition and used safely.
  • Promote teamwork, leadership, and good sportsmanship among students.
  • Monitor and report on student progress and achievement, providing feedback to parents/carers and senior leadership as needed.
  • Participate in professional development opportunities to stay updated on best practices in PE teaching and student well-being.
Qualifications and Experience:
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
  • A degree in Physical Education, Sports Science, or a related field.
  • Previous experience teaching PE in a secondary school is desirable, but NQTs (Newly Qualified Teachers) are welcome to apply.
  • A strong understanding of the national PE curriculum and the ability to teach a broad range of sports.
