This is supporting learners with SEMH (Social and Emotional Mental Health) needs.

The students range from ages 7-18 years old, all with social, emotional or mental health (SEMH) needs. They also have a nurture class for students with ASC.

The successful candidate will work to support teachers, alongside other support staff and therapists, to help nurture a therapeutic environment and deliver the curriculum.

Many of their students arrive at the school having had some form of disruption to their education, as well as many having significant gaps in their learning, being reluctant readers/writers and having a range of emotional barriers to their learning.

This is why it's essential to find the right members of staff who can help reengage the students so they can achieve their full potential.

What you will need:

  • A range of behaviour management techniques

  • To have worked with learners with a range of needs

  • The ability to engage a young person in learning through a range of methods

  • To be able to commit to working at the school for long period of time
