About the job
Hourly Rate: £12.85 - £13.05/ Annual Salary: £24,790 - £25,183
Working Pattern: Full Time (37 hours) Monday - Friday
* 8:30 - 4 pm three days a week, 8:30 - 5 pm two days a week
Contract Length: Permanent
Location: Strawford Day Service, Horsham

About Strawford Day Opportunity Service
Strawford provides activities and opportunities to support people to live the life they want to lead. This may include work, education, and accessing their local community.
These are delivered through a mixture of sessions on-site and out in the community.
Some of the activities we do that supports this include:
* Developing employability skills
* Promoting community access
* Safety and independence skills
* Social skills
* Leadership and team-working skills
Key Skills (These will be used as the shortlisting criteria)
* You are able to interpret information, such as service complaints, and redirect them to the appropriate person to provide quick and accurate resolution.
* Good communication and interpersonal skills
* You will show the ability to deal appropriately with expressive behaviour from the people we support, and respond sensitively to their families and carers.
* Confident in building relationships with people from a wide variety of cultural, religious and ethnic backgrounds.
* Enjoy working as part of a team completing shared tasks as required.
Qualifications and/ experience
* Basic literacy and numeracy skills, in order to record and document activities in the provider plans.
* Basic understanding of the needs of the people we support and their rights as an individual.
* Demonstrable successful experience of working as part of a team.
* Experience in offering accessible digital, multi-media groups or community-based activities- Desirable
* NVQ 2/Diploma in Care or equivalent qualification - Desirable
* Previous experience of working in a care setting and with people who have a disability or are vulnerable - Desirable
