We are inviting a passionate Teaching Assistant to join an all-through special school for boys aged 5-18 years old. Nestled in the beautiful West Sussex countryside, the school is equipped with state-of-the-art facilities. Day-to-day of the role:- Work with children who have complex emotional needs, recognising situations to ensure de-escalation before disruption.
- Maintain good relationships with pupils, exercise appropriate authority, and act decisively when necessary.
- Demonstrate an understanding of how pupils learn and how to meet their individual requirements.
- Support the delivery of Mathematics, contributing to the creation of a positive and inclusive learning environment.
- Assist in the preparation of teaching materials and the organisation of the classroom.
- Collaborate with teaching staff to monitor the progress of students and provide targeted support where needed.
- Engage with pupils to foster a sense of community and act as a positive role model.
- Experience working with children, particularly those with complex emotional needs.
- Ability to support Mathematics with students throughout KS3 and KS4.
- Ability to create a positive and inclusive learning environment for students with special needs.
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to maintain good relationships with pupils.
- A genuine level of care and desire to help students thrive.
- A driving licence is required due to the rural location of the school.
