SEN Learning Support Assistant (LSA)
Location: Horsham, West Sussex
Hours: 8:30-3:30 PM full-time
About the role:
Supply Desk are seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated LSA to work with a child or group of children on a 1:1 individual basis. A Teaching Assistant with prior experience of working with children with SEN is desirable for this role, in order to support the child’s development and meet their additional needs. This INA position is a full time, long term role in order to allow for the development of positive relationships between the INA and the child.
Key Responsibilities:
- Building a positive relationship with the child you are working with - nurturing their social, emotional and mental health development.
- Providing a positive and stimulating learning environment and managing challenging behaviours
- To support the class teacher during learning activities.
- To monitor the child’s well-being, development and safety
The ideal Candidate:
- Previous experience working with individuals with SEND is desirable.
- An enhanced DBS Check or willingness to apply for one.
- Patience, empathy, and a genuine desire to help others.
- Ability to remain calm in challenging situations.
- Flexibility to adapt to the individual’s needs and schedule.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Relevant Education qualifications are advantageous but not essential.
- Lives local to Horsham, West Sussex
