Academics is looking for a compassionate and dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant (TA) to join a special educational needs (SEN) school in Horsham. This is a fantastic opportunity to support children with additional needs and make a meaningful impact on their education and well-being.



Role Overview:

As an SEN TA, you will provide 1:1 or 2:1 support to students with SEN, including ASD, ADHD, and other learning difficulties. You will be assigned to work with up to three children, helping them develop their academic, social, and emotional skills in a nurturing and structured environment.



Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide personalised support to students in a 1:1 or 2:1 setting, adapting learning materials to meet their needs.
  • Assist the class teacher in delivering engaging lessons and structured activities.
  • Implement positive behaviour strategies to support students' development and well-being.
  • Encourage student independence, confidence, and social skills.
  • Work collaboratively with teachers, therapists, and other support staff to ensure the best outcomes for students.


What We're Looking For:

  • Experience working with children with SEN (preferred but not essential).
  • A patient, resilient, and caring approach.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • A full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle (the school is not easily accessible by public transport).
  • Willingness to undergo an enhanced DBS check.
