- You will be taking the lead on property safety and compliance, ensuring the housing association is compliant with legislation and regulatory requirements, and provides safe homes for their customers
- Lead on the delivery of property safety and compliance-related activities, using data and systems to ensure that compliance programmes, inspections, audits, and remedial works are tracked and followed up in a timely manner
- Ensure compliance in relation to: Fire, solid fuel, renewable energy, gas safety, electrical safety, asbestos management, water safety (Legionella), lift safety, carbon monoxide and smoke detectors, damp, and mould
- Monitor the performance and achievement of Building Safety Act, Fire Safety Act, Awaab’s Law, and other evolving and emerging regulations
- Identify, assess, and manage risks related to M&E, property safety and compliance. Implement robust risk mitigation strategies to safeguard customers, staff, assets, and services
- Establish, monitor, and oversee the M&E and Property Safety team’s annual budget
- Ensure planned preventative maintenance takes place for all mechanical and electrical equipment, building safety systems and other relevant services
- Lead, inspire and support your team to provide excellent customer service, and to deliver team and organisational goals
- A relevant technical qualification to degree level such as Mechanical and Electrical Services, or Level 6 Diploma or equivalent in a property or safety related discipline
- Comprehensive knowledge of building safety laws, consumer regulations & CDM regulations
- Excellent leadership and people management skills
- Driver with access to a vehicle
- CIOB approved diploma in Building Safety
