Development and Operations Manager

Sellick partnership are currently assisting in the recruitment of a new and exciting role of Development and Operations Manager for a local Scout group.

This local Scouts group are currently undergoing a major refurbishment of their hall and grounds after having received funding from the Youth Investment Fund.

This group are currently looking for an experienced Operations and development Manager who can develop and contribute to this phase of growth by developing services at the hall and grounds.

Duties of the Development and Operations Manager:

  • Responsible for the implementation and development of a programme of activities, delivery of a booking and payment system, coordinating of activities, whilst maintaining the hall/grounds facilities and equipment
  • Effectively manage the services provided by the group and ensure services are delivered to the required safety and quality standards are in line with Scouting's Policy, Organisation and Rules (POR), ensuring a high standard of service delivery, safety, and customer satisfaction
  • Coordinate with Trustees and Scout Leaders to develop and implement a variety of indoor/outdoor programs and activities
  • Recruit and organise training for staff and volunteers
  • Market new activities through social media and liaising with Scout groups, community groups and local businesses
  • Implement a booking and payment system that can be automated were possible.
  • Ensure all activities and programs are conducted safely and efficiently, conform to best practice and are carried out legally in line with Scouting's Policy, Organisation and Rules (POR)
  • Facility and Equipment Maintenance
  • Oversee and, where required, implement systems and procedures to meet standards required by Health & Safety and other legislation including Scouting's Policy, Organisation and Rules (POR)
  • Manage the hall/grounds budget, ensuring cost-effective operations
  • Track expenses and revenues and prepare financial reports

Requirements of the Development and Operations Manager:

  • Ideally have a good understanding of Scouting or a similar small project
  • Understanding of health and safety regulations and safeguarding working with children
  • Experience handling medium scale project
