Job Description

As a Quality Control Technician, you will play a critical role in ensuring that all finished goods conform to food legislation, BRCGS, customer and quality standards. You will be responsible for the controlling the positive release of finished goods based on successful testing of finished products.

Duties

QC testing of raw materials, intermediate & finished products to ensure compliance with the prescribed standards.

Maintenance of the testing records and recording any deviations

Calibration and / or verification of laboratory & production equipment

Maintaining certificates of analysis for laboratory testing equipment

Identification & control of non-conforming products ensuring that effected products are held and communicated to the wider team.

Coordination of external laboratory testing including microbiological, chemical and allergens. Ensuring samples are submitted and any out of specification results are reported.

Creation of accurate finished product certificates of analysis for customers

Formulation and label checks of finished products, ensuring the accuracy of the information provided.

To regularly audit the site for compliance of products, processes & personnel to agreed standards.

From the audit process identify areas of non-conformance or other issues. Either personally or with the operations team management, take appropriate action to resolve and ensure the non-conformity is appropriately recorded and communicated.

To monitor the effectiveness of plant cleaning and hygiene control to ensure products meet their specification requirements.

To ensure documentation is correctly completed and filed.

Required knowledge, skills or experience

Food Manufacturing Experience

Experience in Quality Control or Quality Assurance

Knowledge of Hygiene standards

Knowledge of Technical standards

HACCP

QA auditing experience

Language requirement is English

Computer Literate

Location: Hetton-le-Hole

Hours of work:

Two weeks of days, one week afternoons and one week night shift

Days 7am-3pm

Backs 3pm-11pm

Nights 11pm-7am

Rates of pay:

Days £11.44

Backs £12.93

Nights £14.77
