Overview:
We are currently seeking a dynamic and experienced Business Development Manager to join our client based in Houghton Le Spring, focusing on securing high-quality development sites for renewable energy projects across Northern England. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in site finding and negotiations, with specific expertise in renewables.
Key Responsibilities:
- Identify and secure new renewable generation and flexible energy projects across the UK, with a primary focus on Northern England.
- Support the development of a successful business plan and provide strategic input within estates and business development areas.
- Approach landowners and negotiate option contracts, ensuring projects align with the company's financial objectives.
- Develop clear and deliverable strategies for each site, maximizing commercial value and ensuring adherence to project timelines and budgets.
Qualifications and Experience:
Essential:
- 3-5 years of experience in site finding and land negotiations, preferably in renewables.
- Strong knowledge of development and land use planning processes.
- Experience negotiating option contracts and managing project budgets.
- Educated to degree level.
- Full driving licence and willingness to travel extensively.
- Proficiency in IT tools for efficiency and functionality.
Desirable:
- Experience in the renewables industry.
- Relevant professional qualifications (e.g., RICS/RTPI).
- Awareness of emerging opportunities in renewables.

Working Environment:
