  • The Arora Group is seeking a proactive Assistant Financial Accountant to join their Group Finance Team, based in Heathrow Area. The role involves managing treasury functions, intercompany funding accounting, and fixed asset registers for all group companies. Candidates should have experience in fixed asset accounting and bank account management, with a preference for those who are partially or fully qualified accountants (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent). The position is office-based, requiring a commitment of 5 days a week, and offers a competitive salary of £30,000 to £35,000 per year. Strong communication skills, attention to detail, and a proactive approach are essential for success in this role.

We are currently looking for a professionl and proactive Assistant Financial Accountant at the Arora Group.

As a member of the Group Finance Team, this Assistant Financial Accountant will support the Treasury Manager and wider Finance Team in two main areas of responsibility:

  • Treasury and intercompany: assist in managing the company bank accounts and undertake payment verifications; manage intercompany funding accounting and monthly intercompany reconciliations.
  • Fixed Assets: manage the fixed asset registers for all group companies.

This role is fully office based (5 days for week) at Arora Group head office in Heathrow Area.

Key Responsibilities

1) Treasury & Intercompany;

  • Assist with the management of the cash requirements of a large number of bank accounts.
  • Assist with weekly cash reporting.
  • Assist with bank account administration and governance including mandates, portal access, opening and closing accounts, KYC checks etc.
  • Ensure the accuracy and validity of all payment transactions on group bank accounts before senior approval.
  • Assist with analysing intercompany funding needs and provide recommendations.
  • Take responsibility for posting and/or verifying all intercompany funding flows to ensure transactions are accurately reflected in the financial records of each counterparty.
  • Manage the intercompany month end close process including preparing the monthly reconciliation and ensuring all group counterparties agree balances.

2) Fixed Assets

  • Manage the fixed asset registers for all group companies including regular reviews of useful lives, depreciation rates, capitalisation of work in progress, existence etc. ensuring full documentation is retained.
  • Post all fixed asset additions, disposals, calculate and post profit/loss on disposal and book revaluations.
  • Run and post monthly deprecation for each register and prepare month end fixed asset reconciliations
  • Assist with the preparation of fixed asset disclosures in the year end statutory accounts.
  • Working with the Construction Management Accountant, assist with the review of historic capitalisation of development work to ensure correct asset costs are recorded for accounting and tax purposes.

Key Skills Required

  • Partially or fully Qualified Accountant, ACA. ACCA, CIMA or equivalent.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office products such as Excel & Word
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Dynamics finance package is advantageous
  • Experience with the technical aspects of fixed asset accounting
  • Experience with bank account management and / or accounts payable desirable but not essential
  • Experience reviewing and analysing data with excellent attention to detail
  • Proven track record of building trust and demonstrating strong ethics
  • Organised and methodical with strong time management and planning skills
  • Strong communication skills both in writing and orally with experience managing stakeholders
  • Proactive and demonstrates initiative
  • Curious with skills in problem solving and process improvement
  • Take pride in their own work and is confident delivering responsibilities with minimum supervision
  • A team player who is helpful, enthusiastic and able to work well with others
