Do you have strong air freight experience with a good understanding of dangerous goods and import/export procedures?
I am looking for an experienced Air Freight Operations Clerk to work for a repeat client close to Heathrow Airport, who specialises in in the transportation of hazardous goods and time-sensitive critical shipments. My client serves both domestic and international clients and prides themselves on providing exemplary customer service and maintaining a positive “above and beyond” attitude. This is an office-based, Monday-Friday position, working from 8am-5pm with a 1 hour lunch break.
Main Responsibilities:
- Manage agents and customers directly.
- Liaise with customers for all aspects of their shipments.
- Find solutions for highly regulated shipments via Air, as well as Road & Sea.
- Make import/export airline bookings.
- Handle customs compliance and declarations.
- Track shipments and provide timely updates.
- Handle customer invoicing and creditor invoice processing.
- Assist with other related tasks as needed such as helping the loading team twice per week.
Key Requirements:
- Strong air freight operations experience, ideally within a freight forwarding company.
- Import/export experience
- Dangerous goods handling
- Driving license and access to own vehicle (preferred)
- Customs handling experience (ideal)
- Computer literacy in MS Office, as well as Sequoia or other freight systems
- Strong communication skills.
- Attention to detail and ability to work independently and within a team environment.
