We are seeking a diligent and detail-oriented Part Time Bookkeeper/Accountant (20hrs a week) to join our finance team. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing a variety of accounting tasks, ensuring accuracy in financial documents, and assisting with the preparation of financial statements. This role is integral to maintaining the financial health and integrity of our business operations.
Day to Day of the Role:- Process payments, invoices, income, and receipts, and enter data into accounting software XeroÂ
- File hard copies of financial documents accurately and efficiently.
- Prepare financial statements, including business income and expenditure, ready for auditors.
- Manage vendor invoice payments and sales invoice collections, while tracking bank account balances.
- Complete VAT Returns, ensuring invoices are recorded in the correct accounting periods.
- Verify the accuracy of business accounts and report any errors to the Financial Director.
- Assist the Financial Director in reconciling any inconsistencies or inaccuracies in the accounts.
- Develop monthly financial statements, including cash flow, profit and loss, and balance sheets.
- Provide administrative support to the Financial Director and assist in preparing yearly accounts.
- Proven experience as an Accountant/Bookkeeper in a similar role.
- Proficiency in accounting software, specifically Xero, and familiarity with database management, Quantum preferred.
- Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
- Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
- Strong organisational and administrative skills.
- Good communication skills, both written and verbal.
- AAT Qualified or QBE
