Job Overview - Senior Pricing Advisor
We are seeking an experienced Senior Pricing Advisor to join our team in London. The successful candidate will be the first person in the company to join as a Senior Pricing Advisor, so this role is unique and perfectly positioned for shaping and moulding as the business grows for the right person. This role for us successfully winning business so we’re looking for someone who can negotiate well, build relationships easily, has a high attention to detail and is able to think creatively to solve problems.
Key Responsibilities - Senior Pricing Advisor
- Negotiate competitive rates with UK and international carriers, shipping lines, hauliers, and transport providers so we are always quoting
- Produce quarterly tariff for particular customers, includes prepping the documents and keeping them up to
- Update our CRM when jobs are won or lost and update pipeline so we can accurately Build solid relationships with suppliers and agents to secure excellent pricing and tariffs.
- Create appropriate tariff rate sheets that can be shared with colleagues on a regular basis.
- If required, prepare professional and accurate quotations for Directors or operational colleagues (e.g., air, sea, road, and rail).
- Manage any RFQ submissions, ensuring competitive pricing and compliance within the customer
- Monitor UK and global market trends, including freight rates, currency fluctuations, and fuel surcharges.
- Conduct competitor analysis to ensure the company remains competitive and profitable.
- Maintain excellent records and update rate agreements, carrier tariffs, and supplier contracts in internal systems and share with staff
- Work closely with all departments to provide bespoke pricing solutions and strategies for new and existing
- Support business development efforts by advising on pricing to meet customer demands while maximising
- If required, provide prompt and professional responses to customer enquiries regarding pricing and quotations.
- Deliver clear explanations of pricing structures, including cost breakdowns and any Analyse transportation options (road, rail, air, or sea) to identify the most cost-effective and efficient solutions.
- Collaborate with operational teams to optimise routes and reduce costs without compromising service
- Ensure all pricing proposals comply with UK shipping regulations, customs requirements, and incoterms.

- Produce detailed reports on pricing performance, including profitability, conversion rates, and customers retention.
- Monitor and analyse KPIs to refine pricing strategies and identify areas for improvement.
- When required to resolve any pricing disputes including addressing rate discrepancies or billing issues.
- Investigate and rectify any cost-related errors in a timely manner.
- Stay up to date with UK-specific freight forwarding trends, such as Brexit-related changes, fuel duty updates, or new trade
- Continuously develop expertise in UK and global logistics markets to offer informed pricing solutions.
Essential & desirable skills, qualifications, and experience
- At least 10 years demonstrable experience, skills and knowledge understanding of multi-model shipments
- Experience working in a similar pricing role for at least two years
- Experience with departmental strategy
- Skilled in all forms of communication and build relationships with people easily
- System and process driven with very high attention to detail
- Five-year background check required
- DBS background check required
