SANZA Teaching agency are currently seeking a teaching assistant for a bustling and creative 2-from entry school in Hounslow (Brentford). They are seeking a teaching assistant to support a girl with social, emotional, mental health difficulties (SEMH).

The role

  • The role is to support a girl in year 3 who has some social and emotional difficulties (SEMH)
  • The girl can display some challenging behaviour from time-to-time, but it is lower level
  • You will also help out with general teaching assistant responsibilities as the girl does not need constant support
  • This is a highly rewarding position for an experienced teaching assistant or a graduate looking to pursue a career in education

Key responsibilities as a teaching assistant:

  • Provide individual support to the pupil with ensuring their safety and well-being
  • Help implement and follow the child's Individual Education Plan (IEP) and behaviour management strategies
  • Collaborate closely with the class teacher and the SENCO to plan and adapt activities to meet the pupil's specific needs
  • Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment for the pupil, promoting their social integration with peers
  • Establish and maintain effective communication with parents, providing regular feedback on the child's progress
