Orka Financial is working with a large privately owned group to recruit a Senior Tax Manager who will join the Group Finance function. As a member of the Group Finance Team, this experienced Senior Tax Manager is responsible for managing the business tax compliance obligations for the group including corporate tax, VAT, property tax and CIS. The role also has a statutory accounting element, responsible for the preparation of the corporate tax disclosure notes for all group companies and some full statutory account preparation. This role is based in Heathrow and will be 5 days per week in the office.

Responsibilities:

• Ensure timely and accurate preparation and submission of all tax obligations across the group including corporation tax, VAT and other tax obligations such as withholding tax returns and CIS. • Oversee and review smaller, simpler entities with hands on preparation required for more complex, higher risk entities.• Prepare month-end and year-end tax provisions for inclusion in management accounts and ensure tax is reconciled to the submitted returns.• Prepare the relevant tax disclosures in the annual statutory financial statements. • Assist in the year end statutory accounts preparation process including preparation of ETBs, specific disclosure notes and fully sets of accounts as required.• Strengthen relevant tax controls and awareness within the business and manage the groups tax risk through on-site audits and delivery of training.• Continually review processes, pro-actively provide ideas for improvement and manage implementation.• Manage, coach and develop the Tax Accountant directly reporting into the role.• Active involvement in strategic tax planning including corporation interest restriction allocations, capital allowance claims, group relief and loss allocations. • Work closely with the central finance team, Head of Tax for the Family Office and external tax advisors on projects and transactions.• Liaise with HMRC on all correspondence.

Profile:

• Qualified ACA and/or CTA with strong tax compliance experience • Minimum 4 years PQE• Specific knowledge and experience in corporate tax and VAT • Experience of managing large complex groups• Good statutory accounting knowledge with some statutory financial statements experience• Experience in the property sector is desired but not essential• Organised and methodical with strong time management and excellent attention to detail• Strong communication skills both in writing and orally with experience managing stakeholders• Proactive and demonstrates initiative• Curious with skills in problem solving and process improvement• Comfortable working under pressure and is confident delivering responsibilities with minimum supervision• Experience using Alphatax is desired but not essential

Salary:

£85,000 - £100,000 + benefits
