Do you have strong air import/export experience with a good understanding of dangerous goods and temperature-controlled cargo procedures?
I am recruiting for an experienced Air Freight Operations Clerk for a repeat client close to Heathrow Airport, who specialises in in the transportation of hazardous/dangerous goods and time-sensitive shipments. My client serves both domestic and international customers and prides themselves on providing exemplary customer service. This is an office-based, Monday-Friday position, working from 8am-5pm with a 1-hour lunch break.
Main Responsibilities:
- Handling imports and exports for dangerous/hazardous goods as well as time-sensitive and temperature-controlled cargo
- Liaise with customers for all aspects of their shipments.
- Find solutions for highly regulated shipments mostly via Air, as well as some Road & Sea.
- Make import/export airline bookings.
- Handle customs compliance and declarations.
- Track shipments and provide timely updates.
- Handle customer invoicing and creditor invoice processing.
Key Requirements:
- Strong air freight operations experience, ideally within a freight forwarding company.
- Import/export experience
- Experience shipping dangerous goods, temperature-controlled or time-sensitive shipments.
- Driving license and access to own vehicle (essential)
- Customs handling experience (ideal)
- Experience using Sequoia or other similar freight systems
