My client is a thriving special school in the London Borough of Hounslow, providing high-quality education for children and young people aged 4-16 with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND). Catering to students with speech, language, and communication needs as well as those with Autism Spectrum Disorders (ASD). Their mission is to create a safe, inclusive, and engaging learning environment where every child can succeed.
The Role:
We are looking for a passionate and dedicated Teaching Assistant with SEND experience to join our supportive team. As a Teaching you will play a vital role in supporting students with additional learning needs, ensuring they receive the individual attention and encouragement they need to thrive.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support the class teacher in delivering engaging lessons tailored to students with SEND.
- Work one-to-one and in small groups to assist students with their learning and development.
- Help implement individual learning plans and provide differentiated support.
- Assist in managing behaviour positively and in line with school policies.
- Encourage students' independence and confidence in their learning journey.
- Support with personal care where necessary.
- Maintain a safe, nurturing, and inclusive learning environment.
What We're Looking For:
- Previous experience working with children with SEND, particularly Autism and communication difficulties would be an advantage.
- A patient, empathetic, and proactive approach to supporting students with diverse needs.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Ability to adapt and work flexibly in a fast-paced school environment.
- A relevant qualification in education or childcare (e.g., CACHE Level 2/3, NVQ, or equivalent) is desirable but not essential.
