We are seeking an experienced Freight Forwarder to join our clients Projects Division. This role involves coordinating and managing the transportation of oversized and heavy cargoes (multimodal - Air &Sea), ensuring timely and cost-effective delivery.
Key Responsibilities:- Oversee and manage freight forwarding projects from inception to completion, ensuring all logistics requirements are met.
- Liaise with carriers, shipping lines, and other logistics service providers to negotiate rates and secure transportation services.
- Prepare and manage all necessary shipping documentation, including bills of lading, air waybills and compliance paperwork.
- Ensure all shipments comply with international and local regulations
- Monitor and control project costs, ensuring budget adherence and identifying opportunities for cost savings.
- Generate regular reports on project status, shipment progress, and any issues encountered.
- Experience:Â Minimum of 4Â years of experience in freight forwarding operations - Essential
- Skills:
- OOG knowledge advantageous. Good Multimodal Ops essential
- Proficient in logistics software and tools (Cargowise user advantageous though not essential)
- Strong negotiation and communication skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
- Attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
