Who You'll Be Working for:
The Company is an international company specialising in the development and manufacture detector electronics, modules, systems and instruments. It has a long history of innovation and quality offering products to blue chip companies and develops and grows as part of a global PLC.
The role:
This role is site-based in our newly refurbished premises and will plan and control the production schedule of a variety of electronic products, working to company procedures, and full training will be given for all activities. We take our employees’ health and safety very seriously and are all trained to follow safe working practises.
What You'll be Doing Each Day:
- Support the efficient operation of the business by managing the production planning, scheduling and control process.
- Develop plans routings and schedules overseeing the entire production cycle and ensuring efficiency of resources matching demand with production.
- Integrate all activities within the manufacturing process before and during on-going production activities.
- Evaluate the effectiveness of the process and compare initial plans against the actual results of production, expediting orders, introducing extra demand and reschedules in the existing plans.
Responsibilities:
- Align sales orders and customers requirements with production capacity.
- Develop long term production plan that determines what will be produced, by whom and when, matching demand with production capacity resources: labour, equipment, material requirements.
- Determine detailed plans to deliver sales orders to customers based on production procedures, lead times, labour resources and material availability.
- Plan the sequence of sub-assemblies, parts and materials flow within the factory to be processed and transformed into finished goods.
- Update customers and internal stakeholders, including finance for the forecast, on future delivery statuses and any changes.
- Release dated and timed works orders and kits into production for operators to be able to produce efficiently without stops.
- Develop and manage the short term (weekly) production schedules emphasising on when the operations will be completed per the manufacturing standard times continuously monitoring the availability of resources and production progress.
- Introduce rescheduling requests from customers and maximise production efficiency.
- Assess the workload and introduces new orders in the existed planned work to maximise production efficiency and customer requirements.
- Investigate material variances on jobs and determine root causes.
- Develop a Continuous Improvement (CI) plan for production planning, order processing, and material management coordinating.
- Ensure data integrity and consistency across all business processes supporting business continuity.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of production schedules and sales orders. Produce and publish procedures for documentation of processes in Epicor or externally where processes are not in Epicor.
Skills you'll need to succeed:
- Previous knowledge and experience of working with electronics would be an advantage.
- Graduate or equivalent experience - ideally
- Previous experience in Supply Chain Planning
- Experienced in production planning, scheduling and control and administration
- Manufacturing background
- Intermediate+ in Excel and Word
- Experience in using ERP systems for planning, preferably (EPICOR) and control of production processes
- Attention to detail and high accuracy
- Customer-focused (internal and external)
- Stakeholder management and leadership skills
- Goal-oriented (focused on the deliverable)
