We are currently seeking an experienced Multi-skilled Maintenance Engineer with an Electrical Bias to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for the maintenance and repair of heavy-duty cargo material handling systems, ensuring their optimal performance and minimizing downtime.
Salary: £45,000 per annum + £5,800 On call allowance + Overtime
Hours: 7:00 am - 4:00 pm, Monday to Friday
Key Responsibilities:
- Conducting routine maintenance checks on material handling systems, including electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic components.
- Diagnosing and troubleshooting electrical and mechanical issues.
- Performing repairs and replacements of faulty parts as necessary.
- Conducting preventative maintenance to prevent breakdowns and ensure continuous operation.
- Responding promptly to equipment breakdowns and resolving issues efficiently to minimize downtime.
- Collaborating with other team members and departments to ensure effective communication and coordination of maintenance activities.
- Documenting maintenance activities and keeping accurate records of equipment performance and repairs.
Requirements:
- Proven experience as a Maintenance Engineer, preferably with a focus on heavy-duty cargo material handling systems.
- Electrical qualifications (e.g., NVQ Level 3 or equivalent).
- Strong electrical troubleshooting skills and the ability to read electrical schematics.
- Experience with mechanical and hydraulic systems is advantageous.
- Flexibility to participate in a 1 in 3 call-out rota.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively with colleagues and clients
- Able to provide 5 years full working references
