Accountability:Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â The post holder reports to the CEO.
Overview:                   The company is seeking a Head of Design & Engineering to lead and oversee all design and engineering related activities within the company. This will include the management of the company’s internal design and drawing office department in addition to subcontract design resources and activities.
                                   The position would be suited to those applicants with strong experience gained within the architectural metalwork, fabrication engineering and construction industries.

Principal Accountabilities / Responsibilities
- To oversee and manage in-house design and engineering activities for the company’s products.
- Manage and develop contract specific design and fabrication engineering design activities for multiple in-house products and contract specific customer deliverables simultaneously.
- To manage the coordination of the creation of CAD manufacturing drawings for issuing to in-house manufacturing departments.
- To oversee all value engineering activities.
- To ensure structural engineering compliance to all relevant standards
- To monitor and drive improved quality & workmanship throughout the design and engineering department.
- Manage a roster of external designers and structural engineering design consultants.
Qualifications, Knowledge and Skills
- Degree, HNC or equivalent in a design, product design, engineering, construction engineering or similar discipline.
- Significant previous experience in the design and engineering of fabricated metal / architectural metalwork products.
- Strong knowledge of sheet metalwork, fabrication and steelwork and on-site installation / erection techniques.
- Experience and knowledge of on-site construction, foundation / civils / installation activities.
