Job Advert: Career Grade Planner

Our client, a reputable organisation within the public sector, is seeking a dedicated and skilled individual to join their Housing, Planning, and Communities team as a Career Grade Planner. This is a temporary position that offers a valuable opportunity to contribute to the delivery of transformational projects and make a positive impact within the community.

Responsibilities:

1. Work effectively as part of our client's Housing, Planning, and Communities team, actively contributing to the achievement of corporate objectives.

2. Collaborate with multi-disciplinary project teams to break down departmental barriers and ensure the successful delivery of projects.

3. Assist the Assistant Director of Planning and Development in integrating services at the point of delivery and at the strategic planning level.

4. Promote a philosophy that prioritises the needs of service users, implementing effective management arrangements to support this approach.

5. Engage with key stakeholders to improve service quality and explore innovative solutions to local challenges while ensuring services are accessible to all members of the community.

6. Oppose and work towards eradicating all forms of discrimination, actively contributing to managing diversity as both an employer and service provider.

7. Contribute to a culture of continuous improvement to enhance performance across the organisation.

8. Maintain a positive image of our client and represent the Council as required.

9. Provide professional advice on relevant areas of service delivery to Councillors and other officers, ensuring compliance with the Council's standing orders.

10. Take active steps to contribute to the achievement of all our client's priorities.

11. Participate in emergency planning activities and respond to emergency situations in alignment with our client's protocols.

12. Assist in the conduct of elections when necessary.

Requirements:

  • Experience in dealing with housing planning applications.
  • Good organisational skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Planning or planning-related degree.
