We are a well-established and respected secondary school located in the heart of Hounslow. We are currently seeking a dedicated and reliable School Facilities Assistant to join our facilities team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Opening and closing the school premises on a split shift basis (morning and afternoon/evening).
  • Ensuring the security of the school buildings and grounds, including setting alarms.
  • Carrying out minor repairs and maintenance work as required.
  • Regular monitoring and inspection of the school premises, including classrooms, communal areas, and external grounds.
  • Supporting the school in setting up rooms for events, assemblies, and exams.
  • Ensuring the cleanliness of certain areas and supporting cleaning staff as necessary.
  • Assisting with deliveries and distributing supplies around the school.
  • Reporting any health and safety hazards or issues to the Facilities Manager.
  • Responding to any emergency call-outs during working hours.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience in a facilities or caretaking role (preferably in a school setting).
  • Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
  • Basic maintenance and DIY skills.
  • A proactive and flexible approach to work.
  • Good communication skills.
  • A commitment to maintaining a safe and secure environment for students and staff.
  • Willingness to work a split shift pattern.
  • Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to undergo one).

Shift Pattern:

  • Morning shift: 5:45 AM – 12:00PM
  • Afternoon/Evening shift: 1:30 PM – 7:30 PM
