Art Teacher - Full time/Part Time - Mainstream Secondary School - Permanent contract - September Start

I am seeking an enthusiastic and experienced Art Teacher with expertise in Photography, Textiles, and Ceramics to join an 'Outstanding' Ofsted-rated mainstream secondary school in Hounslow. The successful candidate will teach Art to Key Stages 3 and 4, inspiring students to explore and develop their creative skills.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Teaching and Learning:

    • Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging Art lessons, including Photography, Textiles, and Ceramics, for Key Stages 3 and 4.
    • Develop schemes of work and lesson plans in line with the national curriculum.
    • Use a variety of teaching methods to cater to different learning styles and abilities.
  • Student Support:

    • Monitor and assess student progress, providing constructive feedback and support.
    • Encourage student participation in art projects and exhibitions.
    • Provide additional support to students who need extra help.
  • Classroom Management:

    • Maintain a positive and orderly classroom environment.
    • Implement school policies and procedures to manage student behavior effectively.
    • Foster a respectful and inclusive atmosphere.
  • Extracurricular Activities:

    • Organize and lead art clubs, workshops, and exhibitions.
    • Promote opportunities for students to showcase their work in school and external events.
  • Collaboration and Professional Development:

    • Work collaboratively with colleagues to enhance the art curriculum and share best practices.
    • Participate in staff meetings, training sessions, and professional development opportunities.
    • Stay updated with developments in art education and relevant techniques.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
  • Degree in Art, Fine Arts, or a related field.
  • Experience teaching Photography, Textiles, and Ceramics.
  • Previous teaching experience in a secondary school setting preferred.
