Role Overview:
As a DT Technician, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of our Design Technology workshops and classrooms. This is a full-time, long-term position, perfect for individuals looking to make a positive impact in an educational setting.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist teachers in preparing materials and equipment for practical lessons.
- Maintain and organise the DT workshop, ensuring a safe and tidy environment.
- Carry out routine maintenance and minor repairs on tools and equipment.
- Manage inventory, order supplies, and ensure all materials are available for lessons.
- Support students during practical activities, ensuring they follow safety procedures.
- Set up displays of students' work and projects.
- Assist in developing and implementing health and safety policies.
Requirements:
- A keen interest in Design Technology and a willingness to learn.
- Previous technician-based experience is preferred but not required.
- A valid DBS check on the update service is essential.
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work collaboratively with teachers and students.
- Good communication skills and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
- Basic knowledge of health and safety regulations in a workshop setting is advantageous.
