  • Budget & Resource Management: Control workshop budgets, tracking labor, parts, and overheads to ensure profitability.
  • Uniqueness of our garage: Staff will have the opportunity to operate HGV/PSV and light vehicles.Key Accountabilities:

Operational

  • Effective allocation of workshop resource to achieve all KPI’s and SLA’s.
  • Regular review of preventative maintenance schedules including SLAs, MOTs, O-Licenses, WIP etc.
  • Ensure work-in-progress is managed, chasing outstanding parts & subcontractors for prompt delivery.
  • Manage the workshop reception, including handover process of vehicles from customers
  • Manage the Control of Contractors and third parties working within designated sites in conjunction with local management
  • Ensure the raise job cards are raised in advance for all scheduled services and safety checks, whilst ensuring all service parts are pre-ordered through procurement.

Safety

To take reasonable care of the health and safety of themselves and of others who may be affected by their actions or omissions.Ensure quality standards are met for every task undertaken.Responsible for Health and Safety Training for the staff.To ensure the workshop equipment conforms to the appropriate regulation, for example: CES,LOLER, PAT tests etc.To report accidents or potential accidents through the RIDDOR reporting process.

People Management

  • Lead, direct and motivate the team with a 'can-do’ approach and a workshop
  • culture conducive to achieving the highest standards of performance.
  • Coach workshop colleagues on diagnosis, methods of repair, quality standards and job times.
  • Create and develop a high performing flexible workshop team through effective management, delegation, and motivation to achieve team targets.
  • Manage a consistent application of established people policies and procedures including Performance Management, Absence Management and Disciplinary & Grievance.
  • Ensure all individual and team training and development needs are recognised and addressed.
  • Ensure efficient use of labour resource through the management of planned leave and training; monitoring break times, timekeeping and attendance.
  • Review and manage overtime requirements, ensure all overtime has been recorded correctly.
  • To deputise for Management in their absence.

  • Manage all costs and expenditure of the workshop in line with budgets and monthly
  • Profit & Loss accounts.
  • Contribute to a higher revenue through exceptional customer service
  • To authorise repair expenditure within agreed customer limits.
  • Monitor tooling ensuring the Workshop and support vehicles are fully equipped within budget to enable all colleagues to carry out their job role and ensuring both are maintained to the highest standards.

Essential skills required for the role

  • Previous Management experience within a similar environment for over 2 years, including experience on HGVs.
  • Experience of working within the airport or transport industry.
  • Excellent communication and People Management experience.
  • Competent use of technology including MS Office suite, Excel, Word, Outlook etc.
  • City & Guilds Level 3 is essential.
  • ISOH - Health & Safety.
  • Selected candidate will be required to obtain a full Airside ID Pass at Heathrow.
  • Basic Gross Salary of £60,000.00 per annum.
  • Auto enrolment to company pension scheme
  • 25 days annual holidays + 8 Bank holidays.
  • Shift patterns: Flexible shift patterns to suite business needs with a minimum of 5 days a week.
  • Office / workshop site based with ability to travel across various business units within the company.
