A secondary school in Hounslow is seeking an EAL-focused Learning Support Assistant (LSA) to support students with English as an Additional Language (EAL) and some with SEND needs.
EAL Learning Support Assistant - Role Overview:
- Provide one-to-one and small group EAL support.
- Adapt lesson materials to improve accessibility.
- Assist teachers in delivering inclusive lessons.
- Encourage student confidence in spoken and written English.
- Monitor progress and give feedback to staff.
EAL Learning Support Assistant - Requirements:
- Degree in English, Linguistics, Education, or related field (or EAL support experience).
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Patience, empathy, and a passion for language development.
EAL Learning Support Assistant - Desirable:
- Experience with EAL/SEND students.
- TEFL, TESOL, or similar qualification.
- Knowledge of safeguarding procedures.
