We are looking for a dedicated and proactive Learning Support Assistant (LSA) to join our team at a Specialist Learning Difficulties (SLD) school. This is a rewarding opportunity to make a difference in the lives of children with complex needs and significant challenging behaviors, including sensory needs.



Key Responsibilities:

  • Build positive relationships with students, recognising them as individuals and meeting their unique needs.
  • Encourage and support students to develop independence in all aspects of their learning.
  • Provide personal care when required, maintaining dignity and respect.
  • Positively support students in all situations, including managing challenging behaviors.
  • Work collaboratively within a team, maintaining effective communication with colleagues and students.


Requirements:

  • Experience: Previous experience in a similar SLD school or working with students with sensory needs and challenging behaviors.
  • Skills: Strong teamwork and communication skills, with the ability to adapt to various situations.
  • Training: Ideally, candidates should be Team Teach trained, though training can be provided for the right candidate.
  • Attitude: A proactive, empathetic, and positive approach to supporting children.
