We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Personal Advisor to join our dynamic Leaving Care team at the London Borough of Hounslow. This is an exciting opportunity to support young people as they transition into adulthood and work towards achieving their full potential.
About the Role:
As a Personal Advisor, you will play a crucial role in providing tailored support and guidance to young people who have left care. Your responsibilities will include:
- Building strong, positive relationships with young people
- Assessing their needs and developing personalised support plans
- Providing advice and support on a range of issues, including housing, education, employment, and finances
- Helping young people to develop essential life skills, such as budgeting, cooking, and cleaning
- Liaising with other professionals, such as social workers, housing officers, and job centre advisors
- Monitoring young people's progress and ensuring they are meeting their goals
About You:
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- A strong commitment to working with young people
- Experience of working with vulnerable young people, preferably in a care setting
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- The ability to work independently and as part of a team
- A flexible approach to work
