SANZA Teaching Agency is seeking to appoint a special needs teaching assistant/learning support assistant who either has experience working with special needs, or is quick to learn!

About the school:

The school is a primary school for children from ages 3 to 11 with severe or profound and multiple learning difficulties, some of whom also have a diagnosis of ASD. The school is warm and welcoming and prides itself on nurturing a supportive and collaborative environment for all.

The class where they are based will have children who can show challenging behaviour.

The candidate will need to be:

  • Proactive
  • Able to get to know the children so they can see them as children first and foremost and best meet their needs
  • Encouraging them to be as independent as possible in all their learning
  • Willing to do personal care and support the children positively in all situations
  • Able to work well in a team and communicate well with adults and children
  • Have previous experience supporting people with special needs
