We are seeking a dedicated Cover Supervisor to join our team at a vibrant Special Educational Needs (SEN) School. If you are proactive, adaptable, and committed to supporting students in their educational journey, we want to hear from you!

About the Role:

As a Cover Supervisor, you will be responsible for supervising students during teacher absences, ensuring that lessons continue smoothly in a safe and supportive environment. This role involves working with students who have a wide range of needs, including autism spectrum disorder (ASD), learning difficulties, and social, emotional, and mental health (SEMH) challenges.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise students in the absence of their usual class teacher.
  • Support students with a variety of SEN needs, helping them engage with the curriculum.
  • Provide a nurturing, inclusive, and safe environment for students.
  • Ensure students remain on task and follow instructions given by the class teacher or school leadership.
  • Manage classroom behaviour effectively, using positive reinforcement and strategies.
  • Work closely with SEN staff and teachers to ensure students' needs are being met.
  • Help students with tasks such as note-taking, using assistive technology, and participating in activities.
  • Encourage social and emotional development by fostering positive relationships.
  • Provide feedback to teachers on student progress, challenges, and behaviour.
