LCV / LGV Van Technician

NEOS Engineering are currently working with one of the UK’s biggest companies who are looking for an experienced Light Commercial Vehicle (LCV) Mechanic to join the team, working on vehicles up to 3.5 tonnes. This is a practical role where you’ll ensure vehicles are maintained to a high standard and kept in excellent working order.

Here are some of the activities you’ll be involved with…

  • Carrying out routine maintenance, including oil changes, brake checks, and tyre replacements.
  • Diagnose mechanical and electrical faults using diagnostic tools.
  • Perform repairs on engines, transmissions, suspension systems, and other key components.
  • Prepare vehicles for MOT testing, including conducting pre-MOT inspections and addressing any required work.
  • Respond to emergency breakdowns and carry out on-site repairs when necessary.
  • Maintain accurate records of work carried out and service logs for each vehicle.
  • Communicate effectively with customers or fleet managers regarding repair needs and costs.

The Candidate:

  • You’re reliable, skilled, and ready to take on a hands-on role maintaining light goods vehicles, with a professional and approachable manner. You’ll have proven experience working on light goods vehicles (up to 3.5 tonnes), with a sound understanding of mechanical and electrical systems. You should be familiar with using diagnostic equipment and a wide range of tools.
  • While not essential, the ideal candidate will also be a qualified MOT tester, capable of conducting MOT tests.
  • We also require candidates to hold NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Vehicle Maintenance and Repair.
  • Full UK Driving Licence.
