Assistant New Business Manager

Salary: £27k - £32k + OTE

Location: Hove

Hours: Mon-Fri 9am - 5pm

Are you able to build and cultivate strong client relationships with prospective clients, and have a proven business development background driving strategic initiatives to drive business growth? If so, I have an exciting role within my clients New Business Team where you will support the manager and team in identifying growth opportunities, conducting market research, coordinating outreach efforts, reporting on figures and assisting on sales pitches to meet revenue and long-term business goals.

You will already have a proven sales background ideally with some management experience and thrive in a proactive and focused new business sales environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist the New Business Manager in identifying and evaluating new business opportunities, inclusive of lead generation and market research.
  • Client acquisition support.
  • Assist in pursuing new business opportunities through lead generation and prospecting activities.
  • Assist in qualifying leads and maintaining a pipeline of potential clients.
  • Support the department in client outreach efforts including cold calling, emails and networking events
  • Ensure the execution of strategic plans to meet business goals.
  • Coordinate cross-functional teams to deliver on business development projects.
  • Reporting and analysis.
  • Prepare weekly, monthly and quarterly reports on activities, KPI’s and client engagement.
  • Administrative support.
  • Manage the coordination of meetings, presentations and events related to the Business Development team.
  • Support event planning, industry networking events, conferences and trade shows.
  • Ensure the sales CRM database is updated accurately.

The right candidate will have the following skills and experience to apply:

  • Proven successful business development background, ideally with some management experience.
  • Good analytical skills with the ability conduct competitor analysis and market research.
  • A consultative sales approach with the ability to build and maintain strong business relationships.
  • My client is particularly interested in candidates that have recruitment, insurance, financial services, or telephone sales background, although it is not a necessity.
  • Strong negotiation skills and have a passion for driving business growth.
  • Strong IT skills inclusive of Word, Excel and using Sales CRM systems.
  • Enjoy working to revenue targets, managing a sales pipeline and KPI’s.
  • Have a proven background in delivering proposals and sales pitches.
  • Great communication skills and able to inspire and motivate a team.
