Special Needs Support Role - Brighton

About the Role:You’ll play a crucial role in supporting children with a range of needs, including Autism, ADHD, and Speech and Language challenges, ensuring they can thrive in the school environment.
Key responsibilities include:
- Assisting the class teacher to ensure that children are receiving appropriate support.
- Working with children 1:1 and facilitating activities that promote their development and engagement.
- Tailoring your approach to meet the individual needs of each student.
- Being part of a team that creates a positive, inclusive atmosphere for students to learn and grow.
- The role requires you to be flexible, responsive, and patient, as each day may bring new challenges.
Hours:Monday to Friday, 8:25 am - 3:30 pm.
About You:
- Compassionate and proactive: You should be sensitive to the needs of the children and able to act on your instincts to support them.
- Versatile and resilient: Working in a school can be fast-paced and unpredictable, so adaptability is key.
- Experience: While previous experience in a similar role is advantageous, it is not essential. The school will provide you with the necessary training.
- Personal qualities: Empathy, patience, and a willingness to learn and grow in the role are essential.
Training and Development:The school offers extensive training programs, including:
- Enhanced Safeguarding Pathway: Learn how to protect children from abuse and ensure their safety both physically and online.
- How to be a Great Teaching Assistant: Go beyond basic support and learn how to be an exceptional teaching assistant.
- Special Needs Awareness: Gain a deeper understanding of various special needs, including Autism, ADHD, Dyslexia, and more.
- Behaviour Management: Learn strategies to manage student behavior in a way that promotes positive learning experiences.
- Effective Teamwork: Training on how to work collaboratively with other adults in the school environment.
