Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled Fitter to join ourteam. The ideal candidate will possess a strong mechanical aptitude and the ability to work with various hand and power tools. This role involves assembling, fabricating, and welding components to meet precise specifications. You will be performing a range of tasks as a fitter with welding just being one element.
The role involves both planned and reactive maintenance.
Duties
- Assemble components using hand tools and power tools according to technical drawings and specifications.
- Fabricate parts from sheet metal, ensuring accuracy and adherence to safety standards.
- Perform welding tasks, including stick welding, to join metal components securely.
- Troubleshoot and resolve any issues that arise during the fitting process.
- Maintain a clean and organised workspace, adhering to health and safety regulations.
Skills
- Proficient in the use of hand tools and power tools for assembly and fabrication tasks.
- Strong mechanical knowledge with the ability to understand technical drawings.
- Experience in welding techniques, particularly stick welding.
- Competent in basic maths for measurements and calculations related to fitting tasks.
- Ability to work with sheet metal and fabricate components as required.
- Excellent attention to detail with a commitment to producing high-quality work.

Due to the location you will need your own reliable motor transport to get to and from work.
