Your new companyYour new company is a well-established regional professional services firm, based in Huddersfield, which has been servicing clients for over 135 years. They offer a range of services including chartered accountancy, business and tax advisory services, and registered auditing. This company prides themselves on their client-focused approach, which enables them to deliver a tailored, reliable and trust-worthy approach to both individual and business clients. Your new roleAs an Accounts Semi-Senior, your responsibilities will include:

  • Preparing accounts for your own portfolio of clients comprising Limited companies, sole traders or partnerships
  • Preparing CT computations for Limited Companies
  • Preparing basic Self Assessment Tax returns
  • Serving as the primary contact for portfolio clients and developing strong working relationships with them
  • Preparing periodic bookkeeping and management accounts
  • Training and mentoring trainee staff members

What you'll need to succeedThis role requires you to be AAT qualified or qualified by experience, and to have practice experience. Beyond this, you also need:

  • Knowledge of CCH suite (preferred)
  • Knowledge of Sage/Xero/QBO
  • Experience of meeting regular filing deadlines
  • The ability to work well within a team
  • Basic computer skills in Word and Excel
  • Study packages are available and further study options would be considered if required
