Role Responsibilities
  • Assisting Audit Managers in handling a varied portfolio of SME clients
  • Taking responsibility for on-site audit fieldwork, ensuring compliance with audit standards
  • Preparing accounts for Limited Companies, sole traders, and partnerships
  • Preparing corporation tax computations for company clients
  • Handling basic Self-Assessment Tax returns
  • Being a primary point of contact for clients, building strong relationships and ensuring excellent service
  • Assisting with bookkeeping and management accounts preparation
  • Supporting and mentoring junior team members, helping them develop their skills

Candidate Requirements
  • AAT qualified or Qualified By Experience (QBE)
  • Practice experience is essential, with a strong understanding of audit and assurance work
  • Ideally 3+ years’ experience in an audit and accounts team within practice
  • Familiarity with Sage, Xero, and QuickBooks (QBO)
  • Knowledge of CCH suite (preferred but not essential)
  • Ability to work to deadlines while maintaining high-quality standards
  • Strong team player with excellent communication skills
  • A proactive approach with a willingness to learn and take on new responsibilities
