JN Technical is seeking an experiencedDesign Engineer to join a national construction company that specialise in the fabrication and erection of steel structures across the UK.

Key Requirements:
  • Experience in the UK steelwork industry.
  • Strong design calculation skills, with proficiency in software such as:
    • Tekla Structural Designer (Fastrak Building Designer)
    • Fastrak Portal Frame
    • Masterframe / STAAD PRO
    • Masterseries Connections
Job Responsibilities:
  • Work with clients, colleagues, and other professionals to interpret construction plans, drawings, and specifications.
  • Develop and refine design ideas using industry-standard software.
  • Apply loadings and calculate stresses and load paths across various structural components.
  • Ensure compliance with legal guidelines, environmental standards, and health & safety requirements.
  • Maintain quality by adhering to company standards and best practices.
  • Stay updated on industry developments through workshops, professional publications, and networking.
  • Provide regular progress reports to clients and senior management.
  • Apply a strong understanding of structural mechanics and engineering principles.
