Seeking a highly skilled and motivated EC&I (Electrical, Control, and Instrumentation) Engineer to join our dynamic team. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced professional to contribute to a wide variety of engineering design projects within an industrial environment. Key Objectives:

  • Take ownership and responsibility for the execution of all assigned work.
  • Deliver practical and fit-for-purpose engineering designs in line with project specifications, budget, and timeline.
  • Promote and adhere to all company and client site directives, including HSEQ (Health, Safety, Environment, and Quality), best practices, and continual improvement.
  • Develop and maintain strong working relationships with key stakeholders.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge to support the role and align with client and industry requirements.

Main Activities:

As an EC&I Engineer, your day-to-day activities will include the following:

  • Producing and updating detailed EC&I design documentation, such as:
    • Loop diagrams, control panel schematics, field connection diagrams, I/O schedules, control circuits, failsafe circuits, LV power distribution & protection, single line diagrams, control panel GAs and layouts, instrument air distribution, and instrumentation hook-ups.
  • Ensuring compliance with national and site standards.
  • Conducting site surveys.
  • Compiling document work packs.
  • Supporting engineering activities, including estimating, commissioning, handover, and procurement.
  • Contributing to the continual improvement of the team and processes.
  • Working independently, utilizing your initiative, and collaborating effectively with team members.

  • Quality of work, adherence to program and budget.
  • Technical competence, accuracy, and the ability to deliver "right first time."
  • Contribution to team success through proactive input, commitment, and collaboration.
  • Strong communication skills (both written and verbal).
  • Strong attendance and timekeeping.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Required:
    • ONC/HNC or equivalent in Electrical, Control, or Instrumentation Engineering.
  • Preferred:
    • HSEQ qualification (e.g., IOSH).
    • CompEx (ExF, ExF+, Ex01-04, Ex05-06, or Ex12).
    • Functional Safety, IEC61508 - TUV or equivalent.
    • BS7671:2018 IET Wiring Regulations - C&G2382-15 or equivalent.
    • CDM regulations.
  • Experience:
    • 5+ years in a similar role with experience in industrial sector engineering.
    • Experience in COMAH Tier 1 Process Manufacturing Environment.
    • Strong understanding of Functional Safety and ATEX directives.
    • Proven track record in engineering design processes from scope to commissioning.
    • Experience with engineering documentation (e.g., loop diagrams, control circuits, functional testing procedures).
    • Familiarity with PLC and DCS systems.
    • Strong knowledge of procurement, expediting, and installation processes.
    • Ability to manage commercial processes such as estimating, budgeting, and programme management.
    • Experience with AutoCAD, MS Office, and engineering design tools.
