CNC Machinist (Heidenhain Experience)

Agency Overview:We are currently working with a leading manufacturer in Huddersfield, known for its precision machining and high-quality engineering solutions. Our client is seeking an experienced CNC Machinist with expertise in Heidenhain controls to join their skilled team. This is an exciting opportunity for someone looking to work with state-of-the-art machinery in a dynamic and rewarding environment.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Set up and operate CNC machines, including SCHARMANN Twin Pallet Horizontal and DEPO 1212 machining center with Heidenhain TNC 530 control.
  • Interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and specifications to determine machining operations.
  • Select and install cutting tools, tool holders, fixtures, and workholding devices.
  • Monitor machine operations to ensure product quality and adherence to specifications.
  • Make adjustments to machine settings to maintain accuracy and high product standards.
  • Inspect finished products to verify compliance with required specifications.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve any issues with machine performance or product quality.
  • (Preferable, but not essential) Ability to work on Mazak for turning applications.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Previous experience in a CNC Miller role or similar machining position is essential.
  • Strong proficiency in operating machines with Heidenhain controls, particularly the DEPO 1212 with TNC 530 control.
  • Experience with SCHARMANN Twin Pallet Horizontal machines is highly desirable.
  • Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations and measurements.
  • Familiarity with tooling, power tools, and hand tools used in machining operations.
  • Proficiency in SolidWorks and CAD software for reading and interpreting technical drawings is beneficial but not essential.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and a solid understanding of machining principles.
