Monday – Friday, 09:00 – 17:30 (37.5 hours)

This position involves being a crucial part of the customer interface, requiring the candidate to provide exceptional customer service while supporting the planning and dispatch teams. The role demands navigating planning systems and customer relationship management systems efficiently to address client queries, resolve complaints, and maintain effective communication with over 1,800 customer sites and senior managers.

The Candidate;

  • Previous experience within a customer service / complaints handling role
  • A high level of attention to detail.
  • Experience in resource management or planning (beneficial but not essential).
  • Knowledge of ATOSS and Purchase Order systems (beneficial but not essential).
  • Previous experience working in the transport or logistics industry.
  • Strong customer service skills
  • Confident on the phone
  • Ability to work under pressure and to deadlines
  • Competent decision making
  • Computer literate
  • Have a flexible and adaptable approach
  • Excellent organisational and communication skills

Duties and Responsibilities;

  • Support Resource Managers with stakeholder communications.
  • Maintain and update the resource system as necessary.
  • Collaborate with the Huddersfield Control Centre (HCC) Analyst team to generate management information for the resource function.
  • Provide general administrative support, including maintaining capability matrices, collating overtime availability, and producing summary plans for field management and Driver Training Instructors (DTIs).
  • Review drivers' hour submissions from agencies and manage the related Purchase Orders upon Operations Transport Managers' (OTM) approval.
  • Handle Purchase Orders for driver medicals, random Drug & Alcohol tests, and external training providers.
  • Plan periodic driver training sessions, including annual refreshers and defensive driving training, in coordination with the Operations Training Manager, and manage all driver ADR renewals.
  • Maintain a driver capability matrix and plan training to ensure driver capability meets requirements.
  • Develop strong working relationships with HCC colleagues, the Operations Training Manager, SHEQ controllers, and Local Transport Managers (LTMs).
